Regular ballistic vests offer good SLASH knife protection, but are not as good at stopping STABBING attacks. . Stab-Resistant vests offer a much higher level of protection from thrusting attacks. Stab-Resistant technical information here...

Stab-Resistance does stiffen up a vest significantly, so we don't recommend it unless you have a significant knife threat. A good comparison is to leather - ballistic vests bend like soft leather, Stab-Resistant vests bend like stiffer leather. The stiffness makes conceal-ability a little tougher, and means you have to be sure to fit the vest correctly for comfort.
