Designed for protection of personnel in operations involving the handling of Unexploded Explosive Ordnance (UXC) and Improvised Explosive Devices (IED). Ideal for activities such as mine clearing.

Mil-spec protection from high velocity fragments associated with the handling of explosive ordnance and devices. MIL-B-44155

Constructed of Aramid ballistic inner fabric, and Nomex fire retardant outer fabric which, when worn properly, will provide fragmentation protection to the wearer up to 2,250 fps / 685 mps.

The system includes the following:

• Coat with sleeves
• Removable Collar and Groin Protector
• Trousers (Open on back for comfort, front protection only)
• Spats (over feet)
• Kevlar® Helmet (Fragment resistant to 2,150 fps / 655 mps)
• Face Shield (Polycarbonate fragment resistant)
• Chest Plate (Aramid composite)

This mesh carrier holds two ~9" by 11" (~23 by 28 cm.) cooling packs front and back. Freeze them – they stay flexible – or just soak in chilled water, and they will keep you cooler for 2 to 3 hours.

Chilling only takes 15 to 20 minutes in ice water (longer in a refrigerator or freezer). Can be chilled and reused thousands of times.

An added benefit is that you get lots of extra blunt trauma protection.

Unlike other cooling packs, with less than 50 square inches of area per pack, this Armor Cooling System was designed for extreme temperature industrial applications, and covers most of your chest and back. ~100 square inches in the front AND ~100 square inches in the back – twice as much cooling power in just 4 lbs. (1.8 kg.)!

As well as the add-on carrier pictured above, this system can also be integrated with the bomb suit.
